The Coven, also known as the Midwives, are a worldwide cult of witches and major antagonists in the Paranormal Activity series. The coven usually meets at Lois' home in Moorpark, California, at night in secret, where they conduct rituals to call upon Tobi.
Since the 1930s, the coven has been practicing witchcraft on women, then taking their first-born sons and brainwashing their mothers so they have no recollection of anything happening. The sons would be kept by the witches until they reached 18, then they would be under demonic influence and even possession.
